Jorge Baggio

He has been working in the film industry for over 15 years. He was the author of the acclaimed documentary “Never has a Poet Had so Much to Tell”, which addresses Florianópolis from the 1970s to the present day, portraying beautiful images of the Island of Santa Catarina.


He released the documentary “Barrels Board” about the history of Bodyboarding and the lifestyle in the pursuit of giant waves around the world. In a language that combined the reference of extreme sports films and the renowned director Andrey Tarkovsky. He also directed another acclaimed documentary “Descaminhos da Coxilha Rica”, which tells the history of the Serrano Plateau region of Santa Catarina with beautiful images and a great density of historical content.


He released in 2018 the documentary “Meiembipe: A Forgotten History in Time”. A documentary work about the indigenous populations that inhabited the coast of Santa Catarina and the first contacts with Europeans, including the history of Peabiru where Aleixo Garcia reached the Andes. All contact by Archaeologists, the great Peninha and the historian Eduardo Bueno.


He finished in 2019 the documentaries "Art, Innovation and Sustainability" and the biography of one of the greatest businessmen of the new generation of the State of Santa Catarina "From Falls to the Top: The trajectory of João Neto".

Also in 2019, he had two documentaries selected for the Legislative Assembly Cinema Award, "Descaminhos da Coxilha Rica" and "Meiembipe: a forgotten history in time" which came in second and third place, respectively, at the Festival.
In 2022, he released the documentaries "Why Florianópolis?" and "Wealth of the Sierra". The documentaries "Coastal Wealth" which along with "Wealth of the Sierra" and "Wealth of the Valley", also in production, form the trilogy "Wealth of Santa Catarina".

He is also directing the documentary "Art and Sea" which poetically depicts the relationship between man and the sea with images and stories from the Atlantic and the Pacific. He also directed the program on the local TV channel Channel 21 "Cine Adventure", produced the World Festival of Cinema and Videos on Action Sports and Nature.
